Sapientia Lab
We built Sapientia Lab to combat modern behavioral addictions by serving two main purposes:
- Helping people to overcome new forms of modern addiction, accelerating their progress to avoid trauma.
- To bridge the gap left by behavioral science, which cannot advance as quickly as these addictions emerge.
¹ Modern ways of addiction and mental problems are emerging nowadays like never before. These new forms of addiction often don’t come with a manual people can follow or someone they can talk to for guidance when trying to make changes. Even when people recognize these problems could ruin their lives, many don't change their behavior until it's too late—until they’ve hit rock bottom or crossed a line they can’t undo. This can range from something deeply shameful to something far more serious, such as engaging in illegal behavior. That's what we mean by trauma. At Sapientia Lab, we believe you can begin making progress and reclaiming your life without having to reach that point.
² It’s not that behavioral science—and science in general—doesn’t work. Of course it does. The challenge, as Dr. Andrew Huberman has described in one of his podcasts, is that making good science is hard and slow. Conducting a rigorous study requires time, carefully designed experiments, diverse sample groups, peer review, and replication, among many other steps. But in the meantime people has to face in their day to day life all of these new challenges. Our mission is try to provide practical help now by taking small steps in each aspect of your life considering what you can do from your starting point.
Right now we are focusing our efforts with pornography addiction in particular. If you think you need help overcoming this, reach out to us and schedule your first session for free.
